Grand War: European Warfare is an addictive warlike strategy game that perfectly combines the turn-based system of other great games from this genre, like Civilization, with the management of your troops, as seen in the fantastic Comandos or Jagged Alliance. In Grand War: European Warfare you are in charge of small squadrons and your goal is to win back control of strategic zones while trying to avoid as many of your men's deaths as possible.
The action and movement controls in Grand War: European Warfare are very similar to those in the Civilization saga: during your turn, you can have your troops complete up to two actions. As you take advantage of your troops' unique strengths and try to balance out their weaknesses you need to move around the scene and attack any enemy you come across. Once you have completed all your tasks you can move on to the next scene.
The main difference between Grand War: European Warfare and Civilization is that in the former you have a limited number of troops that you won't be able to increase. Although it is true that you can level up with each battle you successfully win, once you lose one of your squadrons you won't be able to get it back throughout the whole game.
Grand War: European Warfare is a serious and interesting game that is perfect for those who want to enjoy a turn-based combat game without having to invest too much time in never-ending rounds.
